The world-famous caves of the Green Karst, the indescribable nature's masterpieces, have been visited by millions of people.
Slovenia boasts around eight thousand underground caves and only 22 of them are open for the public. Most of these famous caves are found in the Green Karst. The most famous of them all is the Postojna Cave where a cave train takes visitors underground, but other nearby caves also offer unbelievable experiences. The Križna Cave enthrals visitors with a boat ride across its subterranean lakes, while the Planina Cave is famous for the largest confluence of subterranean rivers in Europe. Only a few kilometres away you will find the famous Škocjan Caves, inscribed onto the UNESCO World Heritage List.
