CYCLING ADVENTURES ON FAMILY-FRIENDLY TRAILS
Can frogs, water sprites, and bats ride bicycles? No, they can’t, but we can visit them by bike.
Exploring Lake Cerknica and its surroundings is best done by bike on four family-friendly trails filled with interactive experiences and fun challenges. These cycling routes, suitable for children aged 6 and up, invite us to:
- The Froggy Adventure, where we learn about the life of frogs,
- The Jezerko Trail, discovering the story of the water sprite and other legends,
- A ride to the spot where we can shout, "Look, a pike!" and learn about the famous fish of Lake Cerknica,
- The Dragonfly Flight Trail, which introduces us to the most skillful flyer in the world.
An unforgettable experience awaits with the guided family bike escape adventure Bat’s Trail. The first karst bike escape starts at the swing near Haasberg (Hošperk) Castle in Planina and surprises us for two hours on an 8-kilometer route suitable for all families.
If we prefer a more leisurely ride over the hills, we rent e-bikes for adults and children in Ilirska Bistrica and set off on a journey across Brkini or elsewhere in the Green Karst region.
