Kettejeva pot (Kette Trail) is a literary path dedicated to Dragotin Kette (1876–1899), one of the key representatives of Slovene modernism. Along the way, visitors can learn about Kette's life and works, enjoy the picturesque cultural landscape of the Brkini Hills and the Reka River Valley, and savor local culinary delights.
The trail stretches approximately 9 kilometers and is divided into three sections:
- Prem, Kette's birthplace,
- the intermediate part between Prem and Trnovo,
- Trnovo, the village where Kette spent his holidays.
The trail is well-marked and combines gravel and asphalt paths, so proper hiking footwear is recommended. There are four entry points along the trail:
- Dragotin Kette Primary School in Ilirska Bistrica,
- Prem Castle,
- Posrtvice Valley,
- Ivankotovi Tourist Farm.
Visitors can explore the full trail or specific sections, starting at any entry point. This path is ideal for literature enthusiasts, admirers of cultural heritage, nature lovers, and those who enjoy local cuisine.
